Last night at the City National Grove of Anaheim was nothing short of spectacular. I had the incredible opportunity to attend Adamson Systems Engineering’s exclusive demonstration of their newest products the VGt line array and VGs subwoofer marking a major leap forward in the world of professional audio.

Hosted just ahead of the NAMM Show, this private event gave attendees a firsthand experience of Adamson’s groundbreaking technology, setting a new benchmark for sound systems designed for large scale events, arenas, and touring productions.

Introducing the VGt The Future of Line Array Systems

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Adamson's VGt line array, the first product under their newly announced Vergence Group. From the very first notes, it was clear that the VGt isn't just another addition to the audio world it’s a revolution.

The VGt is a large format, self-powered enclosure, masterfully engineered with eight transducers two 13 inch low frequency drivers, two 10 inch directional low frequency drivers, two midrange M140 compression drivers, and two 3 inch high frequency compression drivers. These components are powered by an integrated five channel, 10 kW Class D amplifier with onboard DSP.

This powerhouse setup allows the VGt to deliver a frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a nominal dispersion of 90° horizontal and 6° vertical offering unmatched clarity and coverage.

Adamson’s new Autolock™ rigging system made a big impression during the live setup, showcasing how one technician could safely and quickly deploy the system without the usual heavy lifting and alignment hassles.

The VGs Subwoofer: Unleashing Powerful, Precision Bass

No great sound system is complete without earth-shaking bass and that’s where the VGs subwoofer comes into play. Inspired by the legendary E119 subwoofer from Adamson’s E-Series, the VGs pushes performance even further.

It features a single 19 inch SD19 Kevlar® Neodymium driver, powered by a 6 kW Class-D amplifier with onboard DSP. The VGs delivers a stunning frequency range from 29 Hz to 100 Hz, reaching a maximum peak SPL of 139 dB.

Engineered for flexibility and durability, the VGs is built with marine grade birch plywood and aircraft grade steel and aluminum, ensuring it can withstand the harsh realities of touring while maintaining pristine sound quality.

The VGs also features a smart rigging system that allows for easy adjustments of the splay angle between cabinets offering both 0° and 3° options, depending on the setup needs.

Powered by ArrayIntelligence Smarter Audio Management

Both the VGt and VGs are fully integrated with Adamson’s ArrayIntelligence™ software platform, offering an intuitive and powerful way to design, simulate, and monitor systems.

From sub array optimization to delta time simulation for perfect timing alignment, the software’s enhancements ensure that even the most complex setups are manageable and precise. This integration of advanced hardware and intelligent software is a game-changer for live sound engineers who demand reliability, power, and ease of use.

Experiencing the Sound A New Standard Is Set

As the demo unfolded at the Grove, what stood out most was the sheer depth, clarity, and consistency of the sound. Whether it was the soaring highs, the rich mids, or the thunderous lows, the VGt and VGs worked together seamlessly to deliver a listening experience that was immersive and electrifying.

The audience packed with industry professionals, engineers, and audio enthusiasts couldn’t help but notice Adamson’s new Vergence Group line is more than just an upgrade. It’s a bold step into the future of professional audio.

Final Thoughts

If you’re passionate about cutting edge audio technology, the VGt and VGs are products you absolutely must experience firsthand. With unprecedented power, precision engineering, and smart integration, Adamson Systems Engineering has once again raised the bar.
